Was The Intent Of The Pledge For Socialistic Indoctrination?

I dis­cov­ered an inter­est­ing essay on the “Pledge of Allegiance” that I believe deserves a good read­ing. I knew that Francis Bellamy’s ver­sion did not orig­i­nally include the words “under god” but what I did not know is that Bellamy was a social­ist and that his intent was to cre­ate a pledge to gov­ern­ment instead of the Constitution.
